Landmark 220 · Trial in people
NOSE-PD: nasal insulin plus glutathione
Will tell us whether adding insulin helps thinking skills, measured by a word test at 24 weeks. It would not show slowing.
In short

The research record
This is the project's file for this landmark, as written and checked. Sources are listed at the end; anything not yet confirmed is marked "Not yet verified".
Who
Gateway Institute for Brain Research (sponsor), NCT05266417.
What is being tested
A nasal spray of insulin (Novolin R) plus glutathione twice daily versus matching placebo sprays, as add-on therapy. It follows landmark 181, where glutathione alone was no better than placebo at 3 months. Registry: Phase 2, recruiting, 56 planned, started 7 February 2022, primary completion estimated 1 September 2027, completion 30 November 2027, record updated 22 July 2026. No results posted.
What would count as success
The registered main measure is change in verbal fluency (FAS word test) at 24 weeks, a thinking-skills measure, not a motor measure. Even a positive result would not show slowed progression.
