Landmark 263 · Trial in people
Soroka faecal transplant pilot (Israel)
Only 10 people took part and no results are public. Too small to show whether it slows Parkinson's.

What happened
NCT03876327, "Fecal Microbiota Transplantation As a Potential Treatment for Parkinson's Disease: A Pilot Study", is registered as Phase 2/3 and non-randomised, with no masking.
- The plan had three groups: 15 people with Parkinson's who would receive a transplant and be followed for six months; 35 with Parkinson's who would give one stool sample only; and 50 healthy household relatives who would give one stool sample.
- Primary measures, change at 6 months: motor symptoms (UPDRS III) and a six-item constipation score. The registry does not state the transplant route.
- Actual enrolment was 10. The study started 19 Aug 2015 and completed 30 Jun 2020. The record was first posted in March 2019, while the study was running. No results are posted, and no publication has been found.
Why it moved us toward a cure
It is an early human faecal-transplant trial in Parkinson's (it started in 2015), testing the bacteria idea from landmark 56. It is listed for completeness: with 10 participants and no control for expectation, it could not have shown disease slowing. The larger, blinded trials are in landmark 139 and landmark 262.
Outcome
Open and unresolved. No data. It is not counted as a dead end because no result exists.
