Landmark 294 · Trial in people
TB006 (galectin-3 antibody)
Will tell us, early on, whether an antibody against galectin-3 changes symptom scores compared with placebo. It cannot prove slowing.
In short
TrueBinding is testing a monthly infusion of an antibody against galectin-3, a sugar-binding protein that drives microglial inflammation, in 62 people with early Parkinson's; enrolment is closed and the primary data are due about November 2026.

The research record
This is the project's file for this landmark, as written and checked. Sources are listed at the end; anything not yet confirmed is marked "Not yet verified".
Who
TrueBinding, Inc. (US). The drug was first tried in Alzheimer's disease.
What happened
- Trial (NCT06773962). Phase 2a, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicentre. Planned 62 people aged 50 to 80 with Parkinson's for under 5 years, mild symptoms, on no treatment or immediate-release levodopa only. TB006 or placebo by intravenous infusion, monthly (company release). Started 20 March 2025; status active, not recruiting; estimated primary completion 28 November 2026.
- Measures. Primary: change in a Parkinson's rating scale score (the registry does not say which) and adverse events. Secondary: patient and clinician views of severity.
- Idea (company). TB006 is a humanised IgG4 antibody that neutralises galectin-3. The company proposes this lets toxic oligomers (small synuclein clusters) come apart, calms pro-inflammatory microglia and helps lysosomes. These are hypotheses.
- FDA. The IND was cleared in November 2024. In Alzheimer's, a Phase 1b/2 reportedly showed a "positive trend" on cognition, with no stated significance.
Why it moved us toward a cure
Small synuclein oligomers kill dopamine neurons in rats (landmark 92), and activated microglia have marked the nigra since 1988 (landmark 52). TB006 tests one drug aimed at both. It also takes an Alzheimer's-stage antibody into Parkinson's.
Outcome
Pending. No Parkinson's data. A 62-person Phase 2a with a rating-scale primary can show only an early signal; it cannot prove slowing.
